Research Society is about modern, soulful indie rock. Namky (vocals, rhythm guitar, synths, programming) and G Mann (lead guitar, bass, synths, programming) explore their eclectic musical tastes while creating an innovative, yet classic sound. Research Society first performed in and around LA in 2009, and has since recorded their debut EP, Best of Seven.

A natural evolution of the great alternative bands of the late 80s/early 90s, Research Society adds a modern touch to some familiar elements: ‘90s Manchester and Seattle grunge meet Silver Lake-chic. The band creates fresh, edgy music that blends elements of hip hop and electronica into its own sci-fi soul. Namky’s powerful voice invites comparisons to Roy Orbison and Morrissey, while G Mann carves Morello/Marr–fueled riffs that cut to the bone.

Research Society has returned to the studio to start work on our next EP.  Recording of lead single, "Line By Line," is well underway.  We will also shoot a music video for "Line By Line."  Stay tuned for updates, pictures, and maybe even some rough mixes.
